Thematic mid-year assessment
Debasement: BTC corrected but long-term uptrend and institutional adoption intact; Gold pulled back after early peak but central bank buying remains strong. The debasement trade is still loading as all the liquidity rushes to frontier tech. I still have strong conviction and expect the next bull market to resume in Q4. Conviction: High.
Energy: AI power demand narrative strengthened; uranium stabilized with structural supply deficit unchanged and nuclear policy momentum building. Nuclear must power the 21st century. Enough with oil instability. Portfolio: ~12% in clean energy + uranium/nuclear + RR. Conviction: High.
Multipolar Geopolitics: Regional rearmament and elevated defence spending continuing amid multipolar tensions. European defence did not perform despite escalating tension, markets want to see contracts awarded and are tired of European governments making empty announcements. Governments, struggling to get their budgets passed. Portfolio: Defense ETFs (WDEF, NATO) + Rolls-Royce aerospace/defense exposure, supported by the gold allocation. Conviction: Medium-High.
Compute: AI investment and capability growth remain robust. The Nasdaq-100 delivered a strong rebound in Q2 2026 (April alone +15.7%). Quantum computing continues to see hardware and algorithmic progress, keeping the long-term asymmetric upside intact. Portfolio: EQQQ, Quantum ETFs, SQ. Conviction: High.
Old People / Aging: This remains the most predictable pillar. The 60+ population is on track to reach 1.4 billion by 2030, with the silver economy continuing its expansion. Genomics and precision healthcare rebounded strongly in 2026 as innovation capital returned. Portfolio: 12.6% in genomics + aging ETFs. Conviction: High.
Overall: Structural drivers are holding. Short-term corrections in BTC and Gold do not change the 2030 outlook. Portfolio positioning remains aligned and high-conviction.

Key items to watch in H2 2026: Bitcoin cycle bottoming, uranium contracting and nuclear policy clarity, AI capex sustainability, geopolitical developments, and genomics catalysts in aging-related areas.
